Nominations
Nominations for the election may be made by petition. The petition must be signed by 500 members who are eligible to vote and received by 5:00pm Thursday, April 18, 2024. The petition must be accompanied by a signed certificate from the nominee stating that he or she will serve if elected to office.
Nominees by petition must also include a statement of qualifications and biographical data. There can be no more than one nominee per petition. The full slate of all candidates running for a seat on the Board of Directors will be posted in all credit union offices by Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

Current Nominees for the Suffolk Credit Union Board of Directors
Position of Vice Chairman (1 position, 3-year term)
- Frank C. Trotta, Vice Chairman, of Bellport, is the Publisher/CEO of Fire News and FireNews.com. Fire News has served Fire, Rescue and EMS departments and their members since 1973. The publications include 14 print and digital editions covering 17 states. They include Long Island, NY State, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, Ohio, Maryland, North Carolina & South Carolina. He is also a principal in a family-owned local real estate development company.
Trotta served as an elected official of the Village of Bellport for 31 years, including 27 years as Bellport’s longest serving Mayor. Additionally, he has served as the Chairman of the Board of Zoning Appeals for the Town of Brookhaven, Director of the Suffolk County Office of the Aging, Trustee of Suffolk County Community College and was appointed by the governor to serve on the Stony Brook University Council. He currently serves as the Chaplain of the Bellport Fire department and the South Country Ambulance Company and as Assistant Treasurer of the Brookhaven Town Industrial Agency. Trotta has been involved with local organizations including the LI Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, Foster Grandparents of Suffolk County and the American Red Cross. He is a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Long Island University as well as a Masters degree in Public Administration.
Position of Secretary (1 position, 3-year term)
- Phil F. T. Bauccio, Secretary, is the former Executive Director of the Suffolk County Risk Management & Benefits Division and Founder of Phil Bauccio Consultants & Associates, providing consulting services in management, risk management, and governmental administration. Along with his more than 30 years’ experience in risk management and government, Bauccio also served an as Adjunct Professor of Business at Dowling College for 40 years. While at Dowling, he also served on the School of Business Dean’s Advisory Board and numerous other committees.
Over the years, Bauccio has been a member of several organizations including the Long Island Facility Managers Association; Risk & Insurance Management Society (Founder and Past President); New York Claim’s Association, Inc.; Nassau Claims Association, Inc. and more. Bauccio earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Bonaventure University and his MBA from C.W. Post College and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He served in the U.S. Army, Army National Guard (42nd Infantry Division), and the U.S. Army Reserves from 1970-1994, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.
